Empowering women through financial literacy and connection

As the founder of The Girls Gather, I aim to create spaces where women can learn, connect, and grow together—both personally and professionally. One of our past events, in collaboration with Dare to Finance, focused on enhancing financial literacy and independence for women in a supportive and welcoming environment.

The session was designed as an interactive talk, covering essential aspects of personal finance that every woman should understand to navigate her financial journey with confidence. Topics explored included: investing fundamentals, planning for major life events, navigating career breaks, building a financial safety net, and understanding estate laws in Singapore. The session also encouraged attendees to ask questions, reflect on their own financial choices, and share experiences with others, fostering a sense of community and mutual support.

As founder, I oversaw the project from concept to execution, taking ownership of multiple elements:

  • Event Planning & Coordination: Organising the schedule, structuring the session for maximum impact, and ensuring smooth delivery.

  • Social Media Creation: Designing posts, visuals, and campaign content that communicated the purpose of the event and invited women to participate.

  • Brand Collaboration: Working closely with Dare to Finance to ensure messaging was accurate, approachable, and aligned with the audience’s needs.

  • Participant Engagement: Managing sign-ups, communications, and creating a welcoming environment so attendees felt supported and included.

This event not only provided practical financial guidance but also created an opportunity for women to meet new friends, share stories, and feel empowered in their personal finances.
